Canongate published the bible with introductions/synopses ("...twelve meditations about the significance of the Bible at the end of the millennium...") by modern artists/authors undoubtedly as an attempt to modernise the appeal of the text to a more contemporary crowd. Bono introducing the book of psalms - who would ever have imagined it ?
